Julia Hubbard wearing Presence
Julia Hubbard's note
For me, presence is choosing to actually be in the life i have created, rather than always thinking about what comes next. LIving intentionally, enjoying experiences rather than accumulating things, and focusing on the journey rather than only the goal. Presence means being where my feet are. It means noticing the moment I am actually living instead of constantly planning the next thing, thinking about the past, or worrying about the future. It means putting my phone down and looking around. Listening properly when someone is talking to me. Noticing the view, the feeling of the sun, the sound of the sea, the food I'm eating, the place I'm in. Being present with my husband, with other people, and most importantly, with myself. It doesn't mean I have to stop having goals or thinking about the future. It means I don't want to be so focused on where I'm going that I miss where I am. And presence is a reminder that this moment isn't a waiting room for my future life. This is my life. So when I look at the word PRESENCE this month, I can ask myself: Am I actually here? Am I experiencing this moment, or am I already somewhere else in my head? What am I noticing right now? Can I put down the distractions and fully experience this.
