Would this 450gsm oversized hoodie be warm enough for proper winter, or is it overkill for milder seasons?
This is the heaviest piece in the apparel range. At 450gsm, the dense fleece is built for genuine winter use: warm enough to wear as outerwear in mild winter weather, or as a heavy mid-layer under a shell in colder conditions. In milder seasons (autumn or early spring), it works but runs warm for active wear. The adjustable drawstring hood and kangaroo pocket give practical wind and hand protection on cold days.
I have a smaller frame but want a heavy oversized look. Would this hoodie work, or is the weight too much?
It works well for smaller frames seeking a substantial oversized silhouette. The 450gsm weight gives the cut its drape and structure rather than collapsing on a smaller body. Size down one if you want a more contained oversized look. The dropped shoulders and wider body are intentional, so they read as deliberate styling rather than ill-fitting. It suits sensitive skin. The 80% cotton sits against the skin (Grey Melange uses 73% recycled cotton plus 20% recycled polyester plus 7% other). The 20% recycled polyester adds shape retention and reduces shrinkage. The cotton on this hoodie is conventional in solid colors and recycled in Grey Melange, clearly stated so you can decide based on your priorities.
What makes this heavy oversized hoodie a more conscious choice compared to a standard heavy hoodie from a fast-fashion brand?
Two main differences. First, the 20% polyester is recycled, made from post-consumer waste rather than virgin plastic. The Grey Melange variant also uses recycled cotton (73%). The print is applied through DTG (direct-to-garment), where water-based inks bond into the cotton fibers rather than sitting on top. With mindful care, the print stays vivid for years. Wash inside out at a maximum of 30°C with similar colors, skip fabric softener and bleach, and lay flat to dry rather than tumble dry, which is important for heavy hoodies to preserve shape and avoid shrinkage. Avoid ironing directly over the print.
